Stage Two offers a daily one-hour fitness session – weights and cardio combined – that connects with nature by using different outdoor locations. Our fitness team from London are fully qualified and offer the best practice at all levels.

Why choose to join The Modern Sanctum’s specially devised fitness sessions?

The Modern Sanctum is driven by results, that’s why an extra daily 30 minute High Interval Training (HIT) on campus is part of our program for body conditioning. HIT activates the aerobic part of the body system, utilities carbohydrates as a source of fuel and pushes the body to the max. The push to exhaustion is where the magic happens, followed by a recovery session in order to gain full momentum to be able to go again. It’s about getting to your full potential, all the way to failure. This could be for fifteen to thirty seconds rather than one minute, on one minute off. HIT training should be performed with at least a 1:2 work/rest ratio, but in most cases, it should actually be performed with a 1 to 3 or 1 to 4 work/rest ratio.

Working out with the right techniques is what we practice here. Exercising in a fasted state facilitates fibre type-specific intramyocellular lipid breakdown, meaning the fat molecules that are inside the muscles can be recruited into the bloodstream to get burned. This can reduce the amount of fat that sits inside our muscle from 18% to 6% – that’s powerful!

Spirulina can have a massive impact on your overall performance. A spirulina capsule before HIT will be given to our clients as Algae significantly increases the time to fatigue, meaning it helps to aid performance. Spirulina also helps to decrease carb oxidation meaning the body doesn’t use carbs as fuel instead it increases fat oxidation meaning fat burning. A thirty-minute fat burn out HIT exercise program aided by Spirulina for endurance equals results.
